My name is Sheri Schirmer. My parents are Larry and Rose Mary Brannagan and I have three older brothers. I was raised in Grand Island, NE and graduated from Grand Island Northwest. I went to college at both University of Nebraska at Lincoln and Kearney taking some time off in between to be a nanny in Herndon, Virginia. After receiving my Masters Degree I was a Speech Language Pathologist for 10 years.
I met my husband, Tony Schirmer in college and we married in 1992. We have a daughter, Kassie, and two sons, Kobe and Kooper. Tony is a Junior High Math Teacher at Ravenna High School and coaches…well, basically everything.
I liked my job but always said “I still don’t know what I want to be when I grow up”. My parents owned two grocery stores in Wood River and Shelton and so buying a business was not too far out of my realm. I have always been passionate about scrapbooking and pictures (one of Kooper’s first words was “Cheese”) and was always interested in owning my own scrapbooking store. We bought a flower shop on May 13th, 2004 (Friday the 13th) and turned it into a flower shop/scrapbook store/gift store. I quickly learned about flowers which to my surprise was very much like scrapbooking.
Although owning a business is much more demanding and stressful than most jobs I wouldn’t change it for anything. I love my job and truly feel like this is where the Lord wanted me to be.
